If we do say so ourselves, we think you’re gonna love it here.

Williams Creek Retreat is tucked away in a wooded, mountain setting just a stone’s throw from the entrance to the Big South Fork National River & Recreation Area. It’s peaceful here, and quiet. A small stream flows through the forest behind each of the cabins, and hemlocks, magnolias and oak trees shade each of the cabins. Even though we’re remote, there are paved roads throughout the retreat.

And although we’re remotely located, we’re only minutes from town. It’s 7.8 miles from the entrance of Williams Creek Retreat to Walmart Supercenter in the middle of Oneida. There, you’ll find a variety of restaurants — among the fast-food offerings are McDonald’s, Hardee’s, Arby’s, Long John Silvers, Sonic Drive-In, Taco Bell, KFC, Lee’s Famous Recipe Chicken, and Subway. If it’s a pizza you’re after, you’ll find Baby J’s, Pizza Hut or Little Ceasar’s. Don’t miss the unique local flavor of Phillips Drive-In and RaeZack’s Grill & Deli. Or, if you’re after a good steak, you’ll love the atmosphere at Preston’s Long Horn Steakhouse. If you’re looking for flavors of the world, try Zheng Bao (Chinese), El Rey Azteca (Mexican) or Element Asia.

Our cabins are just two miles from the Big South Fork NRRA’s Station Camp area, one of the Southeast’s most renowned places to ride your horse. There are hundreds of miles of trails available from the trailhead at Station Camp. The Bandy Creek area is just seven miles away, where you’ll find the park’s visitor center and plenty of hiking trails. It’s only five miles to the Big South Fork River at Leatherwood Ford, a popular day-use area for swimmers, anglers, hikers and picnickers.

Brimstone Recreation is just 15 minutes to the south, offering more than 200 miles of ATV trails on 20,000 acres of privately-managed property. The trails range in difficulty from beginner to advanced, and have been rated by one national publication as America’s No. 1 place to ride your ATV. Adjacent to Brimstone is the North Cumberland Wildlife Management Area. At 145,000 acres, it is the second-largest contiguous tract of public property in Tennessee and offers hundreds more miles of ATV trails.

At the end of the day, Williams Creek Retreat is your home. With fully-furnished kitchens, spacious living areas, wrap-around covered porches for enjoying the cool mountain breezes and outside amenities like fire pits, picnic tables and charcoal grills, you have the perfect place to call home while you’re enjoying the beauty of the northern Cumberland Plateau. Whether you’re looking for rest and relaxation, on a business trip, or visiting family, Williams Creek Retreat is your place to stay in Big South Fork Country.

Horse accommodations

Horseback riders are more than welcome at Williams Creek Retreat — and we have the facilities to accommodate you! Our retreat includes modern, spacious and clean horse stalls on site, at a cost of $10 per horse per night. We provide the shavings; you provide the hay!

The gazebo

In the center of Williams Creek Retreat, overlooking a small pond, is a large gazebo that is available for our guests. The gazebo is perfect for family functions — cooking out, playing games or simply watching the rain renew the lush, green forests of the Cumberland Plateau.

Our wildlife

The very nature of our remote, peaceful location makes wildlife sightings somewhat common. Whitetail deer, red tail hawks, and wild turkey are among the frequent guests of Wilderness Creek Retreat. Occasionally, a black bear will stop by to pay us a visit.

For this reason, please do not leave trash or food items unsecured outside your cabin.
